A huge thank you goes out to the Mayor of Charnwood Councillor Christine Harris, who very kindly came along to our official opening on Friday 31st August 2018 and cut the ribbon, declaring Baxter’s Tearoom open for business! Afterwards she delivered a wonderfully sincere and complimentary speech to our invited guests.

Baxter’s Tearoom is a family-run business based on Baxter Gate in Loughborough.  The traditionally English Tearoom has a menu dedicated to everything homemade and local wherever possible.   The pretty walk-in Tearoom serves breakfast, light lunches, freshly made sandwiches, homemade cakes and scone.  To make that special occasion memorable, the elegant Vintage Tearoom on the first floor can be booked for English Afternoon Tea, perfect for family celebrations and larger gatherings.

Currently open every Friday and Saturday evening, the newest phase of the business is Baxter’s Wine Bar - tearoom by day, wine bar by night!  Along with especially selected wines, local beers and gins, cold platters are also available.

We are David & Julie Creasey who own and run the business and have been married for 38 years, have 2 grown-up sons and 5 Grandchildren.  We met at Catering College when we were teenagers but Julie decided to pursue office based employment to fit in around bringing up a family.  David is an accomplished manager having over 30 years’ experience within the food industry.

In 2018 we sold our multi-award winning 8 bedroomed Guesthouse in Stoke on Trent which we successfully ran for 5 years and moved back to Leicestershire to be closer to our family, deciding that now was the time to bite the bullet and try something new and challenging.

The refurbishment only took 8 weeks but the transformation has been astonishing. We have created a lovely modern space whilst retaining many of the original features.  The décor is fresh, light and bright with pretty vintage styling and ‘home from home’ touches throughout which both compliments the age and style of the 1920’s building and creates an atmosphere which is very warm and welcoming.
